ENVISIONING THE IMRIS

HYBRID OPERATING SUITE

At IMRIS, we provide the expertise to guide you through the journey of designing your IMRIS Hybrid Operating Suite.

Designing your IMRIS Hybrid Operating Suite is a highly consultative process, resulting in a one-of-a-kind suite of fully integrated neurosurgical products supported by our customer service and clinical applications teams. We call this the
ASSURE Process.

Our customers are often faced with numerous challenges that are not easily solved. We start by learning about your goals and preferences, as well as the obstacles. Then we bring the key stakeholders together to reach a consensus on the
collective goals.

We leverage our unparalleled experience to work collaboratively with hospital administrators, architects, and general contractors to create a schedule that integrates with your timeline. Your current clinical workflow is also carefully
considered as we optimize your IMRIS Hybrid Operating Suite, and integrate the new clinical workflow.

From start to finish, our comprehensive team of Program Managers, Hybrid OR Designers, and Clinical Applications Specialists will collaborate with you to design, install, and integrate your preferred products into your IMRIS Hybrid Operating
Suite.

STORIES FROM THE OR

A Seismic Challenge

The Challenge

Sometimes, we have a situation where a hospital has a specific challenge that requires us to innovate the fundamentals of intraoperative design. That was the case for one of our clients in Japan.

Japan is what we call ‘a seismic event-prone region.’ They get many earthquakes, similar to California. As you can imagine, earthquakes can be really detrimental to intraoperative imaging quality.

The Solution

The ‘seismic system’ we created is the first of its kind. It consists of a stabilizer pad mounted directly under the magnet, along with generally increased structural stability. It’s been highly successful. Since installing the system, 91
patients have undergone neurosurgical intervention with the iMRI. During that time, we’ve had 169 seismic events in the area, and they affected neither the integrity nor the performance of the system.

Good design doesn’t involve a template. You have to consider hundreds of unique variables, both within and beyond the OR itself.

BETTER RESECTION RATES

USING INTRAOPERATIVE MRI

Intraoperative imaging is the future of neurosurgery. By integrating imaging modalities into the surgical environment, surgeons can perform new, minimally invasive procedures and achieve better resection rates using intraoperative
MRI. 1,2, 6-9

HOSPITAL STRATEGY

FOR Intraoperative Imaging Solutions

Every institution has a specific set of goals, which may include maximizing return-on-investment, performing new procedures, attracting new patients, improving patient outcomes, and establishing institutional recognition for your hospital’s
achievements.

As your partner, it’s our mission to support you in attaining your goals.

We work collaboratively with hospital architects and general contractors to create a construction schedule that integrates with your timeline. Your current clinical workflow is carefully considered as we optimize and integrate it with the new
workflow. We also determine optimal access routes and plan around emergent challenges.

LEVERAGE OUR EXPERTISE

CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE

Your hospital is unique – in terms of structure and space. As a result, construction challenges and hospital needs vary. Our approach is highly customized. Beginning with the planning phase, we tailor every component of the construction process
to maximize efficiency and minimize interruption.

Through the combined efforts of IMRIS Program Managers, Hybrid OR Designers, and Clinical Applications Specialists, we are responsible for all aspects of the project to provide you the highest quality customer experience. We also leverage our
expertise to recommend equipment and room designs to maximize the value and use of your IMRIS Hybrid Operating Suite.

An IMRIS Program Manager will coordinate the details during the phases of your project, and a clinical applications specialist with extensive knowledge of intraoperative imaging and operating room workflows will guide you through the planning.
Our professionals will be your direct line of communication to ensure continuous collaboration during every step of the process. We will work around your schedule to minimize OR downtime while your new IMRIS Hybrid Operating Suite is under
construction.

PLANNING FOR THE FUTURE

Intraoperative Imaging Solutions

The primary objective of the initial consultation is to outline your institution’s goals, and then to determine the best technologies and solutions to make those goals a reality. With an understanding of your objectives, a Hybrid OR Designer
will work with you to configure your custom hybrid operating suite.

By determining the optimal room configuration for your IMRIS Hybrid Operating Suite, we can maximize your return-on-investment. Through every stage of our process – from initial consultation, to design and installation, with ongoing clinical
support – we always consider the needs of the department and the institution…not only for today, but for the future. Future-minded planning is integral to our consultation phase, as elements like projected patient-volume and shifting industry
dynamics may influence our recommendations.

PATIENTS IN THE IMRIS HYBRID OR

MAINTAINING A STERILE ENVIRONMENT

We design IMRIS Hybrid Operating Suites to help maintain sterility. Whether it’s during surgery or imaging, an “air curtain” always surrounds the patient on the OR table. Meanwhile, positive air-pressure and minimized mixing of room and
supply-air helps to maintain the sterile environment.
